In this episode we consider the recent farmer protests across Europe, driven by desperation primarily over policies related to the ‘green agenda’ and the drive to ‘net-zero’, with a uniting protest theme of ‘No farmers, No food, No future.’ We look at the unrest in Wales over the proposed new ‘Sustainable Farming Scheme’, and get a glimpse of the green agenda ideology through the ‘C40 cities’ global network. We discuss the pushback including the ‘CO2 Coalition’ and the ’No to net-zero’ campaign. We finish with a call to consider these issues from a Christian perspective, with a focus on Genesis 1:24-28 and Psalm 104.

We look at the cost of taking a stand and speaking out for truth, and the dangers of staying silent. We finish with a mention of the ongoing situation in Israel and Gaza, and the COP 28 deliberations which included statements from the Archbishop of Canterbury and King Charles. In this special episode we speak with Professor Norman Fenton, Emeritus Professor of Risk at Queen Mary University of London. Norman has been a beacon of critical thinking through the last few years, bringing clarity, reasoned analysis and compelling evidence to issues around covid and net zero, and at some considerable personal cost. We discuss his work highlighting issues around covid testing, vaccination and excess deaths. We then discuss his recent concerns about anti-semitism in the ‘Freedom Movement’, and his personal insights as a Jew with many family links to Israel. We conclude with the need for more understanding of the complexities of the history of Israel, including for Christians, and the importance of standing against anti-semitism.

Sunday Jul 23, 2023

In this episode we discuss a few topics which have been in the news. We look at people who have being ‘cancelled’ for expressing political or Christian views and for challenging prevailing ideologies. We talk about climate obsession in the Church and the on-going agenda in the media against meat-eating. We end with discussion on efforts to restrict or ban prayer which mean we are not only losing freedom of speech but even freedom of thought. Our closing scripture is 1 John 4:5-6 which reminds us how to know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
