Episode 75 - Faith over fear

In this first episode of the new year, we look at a number of issues in the news including the King’s Christmas message, the London fireworks, plans to abolish trial by jury in ‘swift courts’, the new chickenpox vaccine and the rise of Islam. We begin and end the episode with a call to live by ‘faith over fear’, with biblical realism and the hope of Christ and his return. We finish with reading the ‘song of Simeon’ from Luke 2:29-32.

Episode 74 - Digital prison

In this episode we catch up on a few recent news events, and then focus in on the proposals for Digital ID in the UK. We consider the potential scope of a digital system, the danger it poses, the global agenda behind Digital ID and the biblical principles it raises. We read from Revelation 13:15-18 and end with John 8:31-32 and the reminder that the truth Jesus brings will set us free.

Episode 73 - Not controversial, just faithful.

In this episode we focus on the assassination of the gifted Christian apologist Charlie Kirk. We consider the significance of Charlie's murder, reactions to it, and the spiritual battle we face. We also discuss the 'Unite the Kingdom' rally in London and the Christian response to these events. We finish with reading from Romans 12 where we are told to hate what is evil and cling to what is good.(apologies if the audio is slightly out, this is beyond our control)

Episode 72 - Essential Church with Phill Sacre

In this special episode we speak with Phill Sacre about the state of the church in our country. We discuss how much of the church behaved during the covid era, what the essentials of true church should be and the need for 'separation' from the world but also from those in the church who will not take the Bible seriously and put Jesus first. Episode 71 - Playing god in the sky

In this episode we discuss having political prisoners in the UK, theologian NT Wright’s controversial views on abortion, the Church of England’s anti-bullying guidance for schools, and the rise of antisemitism. We look into the issues of weather modification and geo-engineering following the recent announcement of plans to fund research into ‘dimming the sun’ in the UK. We consider why these matters are important from a Christian perspective as we seek truth and look to the return of Christ. We finish with reading from Psalm 2.

Episode 70 - Holy Week

In this episode we discuss several topical issues including covid origins, UK censorship and the supreme court ruling on the definition of a woman. We then focus on Easter and the events of Holy Week, the wisdom which can be gained from the scriptural accounts, and how critical it is for us to take careful note of what Jesus said and did in those momentous days. We finish with reading from Luke 24:5-6. He is risen!

Episode 69 - Islamification

In this episode we address the danger posed by the islamification of Britain through immigration, islamic culture, buildings and festivals. We discuss the ideology of multiculturalism and how it is incompatible with Christianity and our western culture. We look at some recent cases of ‘two-tier’ justice and the increasing threats to freedom of speech in Britain. We finish with reading from 2 Corinthians 10:5 which shows us why we have to be able to criticise false religions and ideologies.

Episode 67A - The Hive Mind

In this episode we consider the dangers of the ‘Hive Mind’. We look at the promotion of Ramadan in our country, with virtually no mention of Lent, and why so few Christians feel able to speak up against the rise of Islam. We discuss the media frenzy around the now infamous meeting between Zelensky, Trump and Vance in the Oval Office. We return to the issue of free speech and the government’s rolling out of a secretive AI system to trawl social media for ‘concerning’ posts. We finish by reading from 1 Corinthians 2:16 and a reminder that as Christians we have the mind of Christ.

Episode 67 - Question The Science™

In this episode we discuss the prominent figure Francis Collins, an American physician-scientist and evangelical Christian who led the Human Genome Project, and more recently led the National Institute of Health (NIH) and acted as Science Advisor to President Joe Biden. We review a recent interview he gave to the ‘Re-enchanting’ podcast with Justin Brierley and Belle Tindall following the publishing of his latest book ‘The Road to Wisdom: On Truth, Science, Faith & Trust’. We discuss the dangers of ‘celebrity Christians’, blindly following ‘The Science’, and the accusations made towards those who question the established narrative in their search for truth. We finish with a warning from Jesus in Luke 6:24-26.

Episode 66 - Follow the truth, with Dr Liz Evans

In this special episode we speak with Dr Liz Evans, CEO and cofounder of the UK Medical Freedom Alliance who campaign on issues relating to medical ethics. We talk about the covid lockdowns and vaccines, the current UK Covid Inquiry vaccination module (and its failings) and the People's Vaccine Inquiry which Liz helped to set up. We also discuss the disappointing response of much of the church and the need for courage and spiritual discernment in speaking truth, however difficult. Episode 65 - Who do you fear?
